Edikan Abia, also known as Fil Harmonix, is a 32 year old Nigerian composer of
Contemporary classical music, producer, singer-songwriter and instrumentalist
based in Lagos. He had developed a love of music since his childhood, growing up
listening to classical music, but it wasn’t until he was 13 years old when he composed
what would be the first out of what would be more than a hundred pieces of
instrumental music. Thus, his passion for music was sealed. This passion remained
unquenched during his university days and even after earning his Bachelor’s degree
in the University of Port Harcourt and even in his Youth Service years, where he
took part in the Ajuwaya concert that took place in Yenagoa, Bayelsa state in 2017,
playing both clarinet and recorder. In 2018, he decided to leave Port Harcourt to
further his music training at the renowned Tenstrings Music Institute, where
he would become an instructor of Rudiments of Music and Piano till date.

A largely self-taught recorder player, an instrument he has played for more than 10
years, a talented singer and composer, his style shows strong leanings to classical
music, jazz, easy-listening, and world music genres. His biggest influences in music
have been classical composers like Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Rachmaninov and
Tchaikovsky, as well as musicians such as Yanni, Enya and Ed Izycs. His pieces and
songs show an abundance of beauty and emotion, which is what he tries to depict
in his music.

Soundcloud on his account, Edikan Abia aka Fil Harmonix. He also has a YouTube
channel, where he posts covers of various songs rendered on recorder, including
pieces of his own composition.
