Thulani Senzo Mnisi is a graduate of Mississippi College, in Clinton Mississippi, USA.

​

At a tender age, 2003 Thulani was part of a community youth choir named, Soweto Young Voices, were he was nurtured musically. He was exposed to sacred works like Creation by Hadyn, The Messiah by Handel and many more other works. In the midst of growing musically, he was getting exposed to solo singing under the leadership of Ms Lizo Mbhele.

From 2005 he was discovered by Maestro Tsietsi Mofokeng who trained Thulani tirelessly. After training of about 6months, Thulani and his freinds travelled to italy with Maestro Mofokeng in 2006 with Roedean School.

​

In his high school days, he was exposed to a yearly music competition which is hosted by the Department of Education and Department of Sports Arts and Culture, were his gift of singing was strengthened because of the exposure to a larger audience.

​

In the year 2011, a choir from the Untied States of America came for a tour in South africa. Thulani was part of a chamber choir led by Maestro Michael Dingaan, he(Thulani) was afforded an opportunity to sing and he got a scholarship from the choir director of Mississippi College.

​

In 2014, at Mississippi College, Thulani was given the tools on how to compose, by Dr. Ben Williams. Since then, Thulani has been persistant with composition. Thulani's first composition titled "My Thoughts" was sent to his professor Dr. Williams and he approved it.

​

Thulani won several competitions in America just to name few; NATS 1st place 2012-2015, Leontyne Price scholarship 1st place 2015. Operas he sang as tenor soloist (Cabildo 2012,Die Fledermaus 2015 ,The Fairy Queen 2011. Opera scenes "L'elisir d'amore 2014. He was atenor soloist in the premier of Dan Forrest Requiem at Carnigie hall.NY. He was also the tenor soloist for Mozart Requiem at Mississippi College. He had recitals in several churches like Raymond, Northside and Bovinia church just to name a few... 

In the same year of 2014, Thulani was registered to be part of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA). He got exposed and met composers like John Rutter, Ola Gjeilo and Dan Frrest who have been an inspiration in some of his compositions.

Thulani's compositions range from baroque era, classical contemporary, choral music and opera.

His teachers from a tender age, Ms Lizo Mbhele to Prof Jamie Meaders (former Director of Mississippi College Department),  played a very important role because Thulani can conduct a choir, compose, arrange music, facilitate workshops, adjudicate and sing; and he is also the Founder and Artistic Driector of Creator Senzo Music Initiative which is based in Soweto.
